Crisis psychologist

We ensure quick access to competent psychological assistance for people who have experienced a crisis. It is individual how we humans react in crisis situations, but it is common to experience strong stress reactions and have difficulty continuing to function as normal. Access to psychological first aid can be of great importance in order to understand and manage the reactions that are evoked, and to prevent the person in question from having a hard time over time. Psychological first aid is an offer to people who have experienced an acute and overwhelming event and want support to manage their reactions. Psychological first aid is given according to recognized methods to the person who has experienced the crisis themselves, or to relatives/closest family who have to care for someone who have crisis reactions. The aim of psychological first aid is to facilitate the crisis reaction itself, and to prevent late reactions such as post-traumatic stress. Our psychologists have experience and tools that can be used during the acute situation as well as after the crisis. Examples of things we work with:

  • Psychoeducation and support
  • Coping and regulation
  • Trigger
  • Memory
  • Exposure
  • Emotions and acceptance
