Muscular headaches and dizziness

Headaches can be experienced in several ways. The pain can, for example, occur gradually over the back of the head and move closer to the forehead. The pain can also concentrate over the temple and at the same time affect vision. The latter example may be an indication of migraine. This type of headache often increases gradually and can often lead to nausea and vomiting as the pain approaches its peak.

Migraines can occur for many reasons and are experienced differently by different people. They can last a couple of hours and up to 3 days, and some have migraines several times a week while others have them infrequently.

Headaches and migraines can be managed. If you have a frequent migraine attacks or you're having trouble controlling your migraines, your doctor may recommend seizure-suppressing medications called triptans. Speak to your doctor to see if this treatment is appropriate for you.

At Dr. Dropin, we have skilled practitioners who can assess you and help you receive the appropriate treatment.

Common symptoms

Pain that spreads over the head and towards the forehead often originates from tense muscles around the neck, shoulders and neck. Factors that can strengthen the suspicion that the headache comes from the muscles are if one often experiences headaches after a long day at work, during stressful periods, prolonged static work or that it occurs more often when it is cold. A thorough examination, treatment and training of measures you can perform yourself at home can help reduce the headache and work better throughout the week.

Dizziness can in some cases occur as a result of many of the same factors as the headache mentioned above. If one has been well investigated and has been denied that the dizziness originates from the balance organ, virus on the balance nerve or key causes, one will start treatment for cervicogenic dizziness with a focus around the neck.
