Mollusks (Molluscum Contagiosum) - Treatment and removal

Molluscum contagiosum (molluscum contagiosum) is a common viral infection of the skin that causes small, skin-colored or pearl-like bumps.

Although they are usually harmless and go away on their own, they can be contagious and cosmetically embarrassing.

At Dr. Dropin, we offer effective treatment and removal of mollusks for both children and adults.

Treatment options for molluscs

Although moles often disappear on their own, treatment may be necessary if they are cosmetically embarrassing, spread or cause discomfort.

At Dr. Dropin, we offer several treatment options:

  • Curettage: The nuples are scraped away with an instrument.
  • Cryotherapy: The nipples are frozen with liquid nitrogen.
  • Laser treatment: The moles are removed with a laser.
  • Chemical treatment: Creams or solutions are applied to the warts to destroy them.
