Work Experience: Dr. Sten Ræder is the founder and managing director of Øyehelseklinikken (Eye Health Clinic) and Tørreøyneklinikken (the Norwegian Dry Eye Clinic). He is an experienced ophthalmologist from Oslo University Hospital Ullevål and Stavanger University Hospital. From 2012 to 2017, he worked as a refractive surgeon at Synslaser Surgery and in private practice in Nordstrand. Dr. Sten has taught over 600 medical students at Oslo University Hospital and has been affiliated with research institutions such as Harvard Medical School and the University of Bergen. He has so far published 37 scientific articles and more than 100 scientific abstracts and has received several research and innovation awards, including the Medinnova Innovation Award.
Specialization: Dr. Sten is a recognized expert in the treatment of dry eye disease, stem cell therapy for corneal diseases, and refractive surgery. He has authored both Norwegian and Nordic guidelines for the treatment of dry eye disease and serves as a key advisor to pharmaceutical companies in this field.
Dr. Sten also has a significant interest in education and has developed textbooks and course materials that have been of great benefit to medical students and optometrists.

Dr. Øygunn Aass Utheim

Education: Dr. Øygunn Aass Utheim completed her medical studies in Oslo in 2001 and is a specialist in ophthalmology, having trained at Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen and Oslo University Hospital, where she also gained expertise in cataract surgery. She holds a PhD in dry eye disease and stem cells in the ocular surface.
Work Experience: Dr. Øygunn Aass Utheim has extensive clinical experience and previously worked as a senior consultant in medical retina at Oslo University Hospital. She has a strong interest in quality assurance of clinical procedures and research to optimize treatment within ophthalmology. She has conducted research at the Vecillo Dry Eye Laboratory at Harvard Medical School in collaboration with Professor Darlene A. Dartt and has published around 30 scientific articles and 100 scientific abstracts. She has received multiple awards, including the Medinnova Innovation Prize and the European Society of Ophthalmology Award in 2018 as Norway's most promising ophthalmologist under 45.

Dr. Dr. Behzod Tashbayev
Education:
Dr. Behzod Tashbayev has an extensive educational background in medicine and ophthalmology. He completed his medical degree at Andijan State Medical Institute (2003-2010) and holds a Master’s degree in Health Informatics from Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm (2010-2012). He completed his specialization in ophthalmology in Region Sörmland, Sweden, where he is also licensed as an ophthalmologist in addition to his Norwegian authorization. In 2017, he earned a PhD from the University of Oslo, where he researched diagnostic methods for dry eye disease.
Work Experience:
Dr. Tashbayev is an award-winning ophthalmologist and researcher with extensive international experience. He has held leading roles at several eye health clinics, including the Norwegian Dry Eye Clinic, where he worked on quality assurance and innovation. Dr. Tashbayev has performed over 700 cataract surgeries and conducted research at prestigious institutions such as Harvard Medical School. He has also been affiliated with the University of Oslo as a PhD fellow, where he published numerous articles in high-ranking journals.
Specialization:
Dr. Tashbayev specializes in dry eye disease, cataracts, and health informatics. His PhD research focused on inflammatory markers in the tear film, which is crucial for the development of new treatments for dry eye disease. He has received several awards, including the Oftalmolog Outstanding Nordic PhD Award in 2021. Dr. Tashbayev has also researched new diagnostic and treatment methods for eye diseases and has contributed to the scientific community with over 40 scientific abstracts and several articles in journals from the Nature group.

Dr. Tor Paaske Utheim

Work Experience: Dr. Tor Paaske Utheim is an award-winning ophthalmologist and holds a total of 11 professorships across seven universities. He has served as the head of several eye departments in Norway, including Oslo, Drammen, and Stavanger. He has conducted research at Harvard Medical School, where he was also a Fulbright scholar. Dr. Utheim has led and supervised over 90 researchers, including PhD candidates, within the field of ophthalmology, with a focus on dry eye disease, refractive surgery, and retinal diseases. In 2023, he received the Norwegian Ophthalmological Society's highest honor – the Hjalmar Schiøtz Medal.
Specialization: Dr. Utheim is an internationally recognized expert in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye disease, cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal diseases. He has published several articles in highly ranked journals, including Nature Communications. Dr. Utheim is also active in surgical methods, particularly eyelid surgery, and has contributed to the development of new treatment techniques. He has also published textbooks and book chapters in collaboration with Harvard Medical School and has received significant research funding for his work in ophthalmology.
